The River knows best

After a lull last week, we have two new paintings today.  On the west side, moral support for students during final exams is coming from… somewhat surprisingly none other than Winnie the Pooh:

Thanks β 5 DAYS LEFT "The River knows best: we need not hurry, we shall get there someday." --Winnie the Pooh Good Luck on Finals!

Now that’s sage advice from a bear.  The anonymous painter(s) put forth great effort to accurately recreate Pooh, including gold paint for the dripping honey:

so much hunny makes pooh bear sleepy! note to students: binging on honey will probably cause a sugar crash and make your liver unhappy, so it is therefore not a recommended "all-nighter" studying technique

Pooh’s good luck wishes extend to the east side, where it shares another ad for Teach for America:

Good Luck Love, Winnie the Pooh ! Teach For America application deadline Jan. 6th make a difference... NOW MORE Than Ever! | ♥ AJ AM LE AR AD RS THX BETA

It looks like there’s a remnant of something else in green and red from over the weekend, but I never saw the full thing.  Also on both sides you will notice an orange flyer advertising for roundtrip transportation to the Chick-fil-A Bowl (in which UVA plays Auburn):

HOO'S EXPRESS TRASPORTATION TO THE CHIC-FILET BOWL IN A LUXURIOUS LIMO BUS ONLY $249.00 PER PERSON INCLUDES ROUND-TRIP TRANSPORTATION INCLUDES 1 NIGHT HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS DOUBLE OCCPANCY (434) 825 - 4864 * LIMITED SPACE * RESERVE NOW * GO IN STYLE

Advice to Hoo’s Express:

  • You should pay me for this advertisement I’m giving you.
  • Run a spelling check on your advertisements before printing them.
