Today we have a more uncommon occurrence: the two-sided paint job (i.e. both sides of the bridge are painted for the same event). The double painting is in support of the biggest football game of the season against Virginia Tech. It seems Beta Bridge has been co-opted as “The London Bridge” for now, referring to head coach Mike London.
The enthusiasm comes after Saturday’s win against Florida State. The good news is that UVA is now ranked at #24, according to the AP, but the bad news is that Tech is already ranked at #6.
The east side features a pun in the form of a rhetorical question, but appears unfinished since it doesn’t say what they’re playing for:
